It's very sad to hear about the Moore family but I am so glad Sister Dial was able to tell me in person and was there to give me a big hug. So,thank her again for me please.
So last week in our district (3 companionships) we had 94 (46 were ours!) lessons! And in our mission we had 81 baptisms! So last week was a great week for our mission!
I forgot to tell you last week but when Sister Reyes and I went to do zone finding we just went tracting at an apt. complex and a lady slammed a door in our face! Yeah, it was hiliarous. We walked away and died laughing. I know the only reason why this is funny is b/c it has only happened once so I am so grateful to be in this mission where I don't have to go tracting everyday and get doors slammed in my face everyday.
Do you know Pres. Wixum*spelling* he was the mission pres over the DC south mission. Well, he is one of our ward mission leaders and is awesome!!! He truly loves missionary work and you can tell! He wife is just as amazing! They type the "progress record" for their ward. It's awesome! Yesterday we had a stake correlation meeting. There were about....12 (including us) people there. It was really cool. So it's fun working at a stake level but hard to keep track of who goes to what ward. haha.
I had my first "companion moment" on Sunday. Sister Wang was not next to me and was out in the hallway. I felt so alone and so vunerable. And that's when I relized I have finally gotten use to having someone with me 24/7/
Sunday was a crazy day! We were at church from 9 am to 9pm. We went to 3 sacrament meetings, 1 sunday school, 2 firesides, a lesson, half of RS, and a missionary meeting that day. So we were tired. We even ate lunch and dinner at the church. Ok, so there is this super old chinese lady in the chinese ward. She is like 85+, like 4 foot 7, wears glasses, shuffles everywere she goes and is just old. Well, I walked past her on sunday and she goes "Ni Hao" so I said "hi" and when I look at her she is wearing a necklace....a thick silver chain necklace with a big silver bulldog w/ spiked collar "pendant" on it. It was so funny. This old asian was wearing bling! It took all I had not to laugh. I really wanted to take a picture but my camera was in the car. It made my day seeing that.
One of the firesides was with Elder Perkins, I think, he is in the 1st quorum of the 70. Well he is over China. And some fun facts. He THINKS that china will open in 20-30 years. There are 42 full time missionaries from Mainland China. ( we have 2/42 here in the SLC mission!) There is even a mission pres in China but they do...who knows what, but they don't have missionaries but they look over like the Branches in China. It was a great fireside. And I wore my little headphones for them to translate for me b/c they spoke Mandarian in the fireside.
OH! I went on exchange for the first time! I was with a sister who is from Tonga. This is only her third transfer. She is awesome! She covers the Dials area so when our lesson cancelled we stopped by and visited the Dials. It was fun to see them! Did Abby get the picture that Megan sent her?
The 8 am session was closed to the public today so we did initiatories. It was really cool. I liked doing it. Pres. Monson and the Apostles were in a meeting so that's why. 4 of our Elders saw the first presidency when they were at the temple! Lucky them! I am so excited for conference! For 2 of the sessions we get to sit in the very front on the side that the prophet and Apostles walk in! It's gonna be great!
While I am thinking about it can you ask Katie and Kelsey if they have gotten any letters from me? I don't know if it's just they don't have time to write back or they did not recieve them. So if you could ask them, that would be great! Thanks.
During Zone finding yesterday we (sister Reyes and I ) got 1 referral, 3 return apts, and a person on date( for April and that was our first time meeting him) . All in an hour and a half. Wow this is an amazing mission!
There is a girl, Amy, who met with Sister Wang and the exchange sister and Sister Wang asked if she wanted to get ready for a baptism and that we would prepare her, teach her, and all that, and she said yes! So another person on date! So for April 11th we have 3 people getting baptized, Si Yun, You Jie, and Amy. All Chinese girls.
I mentioned G.G. a few e-mails ago but we taught her again last week and then took her to Temple Square a few days ago. Well we commited her to baptism and she accepted! She is amazing! She said that she wants nothing more then to get baptized! She was so sincere about it! OH Jordana reports to the field today!!!! And we are going to T.S. with Amy today so I am hoping I will see her there!!!
I think I am getting transfered. There is a new sister that is coming in that her 2nd language is Chinese so I am thinking that Sister Wang will train her.
Mom, to answer your question, no one has bought our groceries. BUT 5 days ago a old man bought me and three other sisters lunch! and 2 days ago another old man bought me and 3 other sisters lunch! And yes we all said thank you like 50 times each! haha.
So I think Sister Dial told you the story but just in case I will too. I was waiting for Sister Wang to change so I prayed to know who I should put on the prayer roll. Tyler Moore was one of those people I put down, this was like 2 hours before I found out about Sister Moore. Prayer is an amazing thing.
Well, I am out of time. Thank you for all the letters and the package!!! I know you pray for me everyday, thank you. I love you all!!! Love, Sister Anderson
Only in the SLC mission do you know all the homeless people outside of T.S.
