How Great Shall Be My Joy!

How Great Shall Be My Joy!
Sara at the Provo Temple

Sister Sara in Salt Lake City

Sara entered the MTC on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Her wonderful friends, Kelsey and Katie, took her to the MTC and "dropped her off at the curb" after their goodbyes. Thanks for helping my girl out.

Soon, two young elders came out to take Sara's luggage and Sara walked into the MTC with "calm and confidence" as Katie put it. Kelsey took some great pictures and promptly sent them to us. Katie gave me a call and said all was well.

So, for the next 18 months, we will follow Sara and her "LIFE BEHIND THE TAG."

Christmas afternoon and night was good. I told you about the morning. We visited the Dials and that was great. We just chilled at their house for an hour. We then went to the Winns house and just chated with sis winn and then played a dice game with her 2 girls and there husbands. Well one of them was a soon to be husband. IT was fun. The Dials told me where the Lloyds now live, ends up its in one of our stakes!!! I am guessing they called you after I left. haha. I didnt realize how awkward I am now as a missionary till I went th their house. haha. Maybe I was just tired and not up to being all crazy. haha. Oh they have the most beautiful house ever!!! Its so amazing! We will go look at it in Oct when we all come out.

Well nothing to exciting has happened since I talked to you a few days ago. Love you all. Love, Sister Anderson

P.S. I will be e-mailing on Monday from now on and getting mail on Wednesdays. And no, I have not gotten teh cards from dad or th ward. I did get one from the waltons, andrew anderson fam, desta, fred mullins crew, mcleans, and I think thats it....

We have had a wonderful week! I love working with Sister Drew.

The members we live with gave a 6 foot tree and some ornaments and so we decorated the tree like 5 days ago and every night we sit under it and either catch up on book of mormon reading or you know I dont really know what we do but its fun.

Oh a huge thing I forgot to tell you last week was our p-day is getting changed to Monday! Startting in Jan it will be on Mon from now on.

The Christmas devo was amazing. Elder Hinckley was just so awesome. And guess what I did, well 5 other people did it too, sang Silent Night in Karen!!! So everyone that was still in the mission field that has served in the Karen program sang, 3 elders and 3 sisters! So great.

If that website does not work that I sent you in another e-mial just go to youth.lds.org and click the mormon messages and click that one on priesthood duty. You might be amazed.

Love you tons, talk to you on Saturday. OH! and I did see the VA winn family today!!!!!! It was so good to see them! I just love them. I will be goign to there hosue on Christmas. Also I will be going to sister Wixums house like the general primary pres. Pretty Legit! lvoe you. Love, Sister Anderson

P.S. I will see Andrew, Heather, Sam, and Emily tomorrow!!! But I am sure you already know!

I don’t know if you got this e-mail but I was cleaning out my e-mail and it said it didn’t send so I figured I would send it to you just in case

So last night we decided to go to Young women’s for like 30 min. Iwalked in and they were doing some form of photo shoot. I look at thetable and there was an envelope addressed to Pres Naylor with yourhandwriting so I picked it up and saw it was from you and read thenotes you sent in it too. So I was able to be there when they gotthem!! It was so fun!! Sister Winn was there too because she went outwith us that night. The girl that was taking pictures has a blog but Iof course forgot my planner and it is written in there. But I thinkits, LaLasLens@blogspot.com But not 100% on that.
The powder puff game was so fun!!! I took pictures and will have toprint them off next week and send them to you.
Funny Story. So We go over to Mu Doh's a couple times a week to goover English with her and when we were there a few days ago and someone called and she told them that the "Go low wah (white people),missionaries" where at there house. So within a minute 2 other ladiesshowed up. One member and one non member who we use to teach but hadto drop. Anyway, so they walk in and Mu doh grabs her scripturesthrows them down in front of me and points at them then points at thenon member, giggles, and sits down. Then the other lady goes " I wantto learn about Joseph Smith" Mu doh goes Yeah I want to learn aboutJoseph smith!" We read the book of Mormon story about Joseph smith.haha. Well when we get to the first vision and we show all of them thepictures mu doh goes "OHH!" like a light bulb went off in her head andshe goes "OHH TWO Jesus!!!!" talking about Heavenly Father and JesusChrist. hahaah. That’s out Recent convert!! Don’t worry we correctedher. She is so awesome!
I bought some boots today! I didn’t have any and snow kept getting inmy shoes and that was cold. I got them at payless for $30. Thanks dad!
There are some people that told us that they are going to get baptizedon Christmas!!! So that’s super exciting!!!
Thanksgiving was good. We visited 23 families from 6-9 so that wasgreat!!! I called the Dials to see if we could stop by b/c we were inthere area for a dinner but they were in like Sandy so I didn’t get tosee them.
I got the Christmas package! Thanks!!! Sis. Blyel sent me somethingtoo but I don’t know if I should open it now or wait till Christmas.
Thanks for everything! Love you!

BACK TO WHERE I STARTED! hahaha. I am back in my FIRST area. Mt Olympus, Mt olympus N, and Olympus Stake. But this time I dont have the Chinese and Russian program. Sad. But its weird that I'm back where it all begain. And things have down sized. When I covered this area we had 23 wards now its 19.

We have had tons of changes in the mission. We only have 9 zones instead of 11 and they are all renamed. Now I am in the East Zone, not Millcreek. So east zone is most of Millcreek zone and part of Parley. So some of my old zone is still with me! Its pretty cool. Another thing that has changed, we are only allowed to go to the temple once a month. There are other things too but those are the biggest.

My new comp is Sister Drew from Canada! I'm excited! She has been out for like 2 transfers less then me. She cant have gluten so we don’t eat with members. So we will always come home and eat. Glad I know how to cook. haha.

For some reason we had to switch cars with a set of elders. Man are elders gross. haha. We spent an hour cleaning the car after we got it. hahaha. But I'm glad we have a car and sad we hah to give up our old one because that was my first car of my mission so that would have been fun to have back.

Our Christmas Devo is this Saturday! I am soooo excited for it! Elder Hinkley is coming to speak! Speaking of Christmas, I don’t know what’s going on with the call. I am guessing I will call you to set up a time so if you get a call from an 801 number be sure to pick up.

Back to the Columbus Branch. The Christmas party was this past Saturday. It was great. Spicy food! It was good. They told the Nativity story in Karen. It was interesting to see how they acted it out. Nyay Meh and Masha's baptism was after that and it was wonderful! Well, Nyay Meh had to do it 4 times but it got done. The man that did it, Han Soe Win ( who is in his mid 30's), it was his first time baptizing someone so it was very exciting to see. He did a wonderful job. So we went to Mudoh's house last night for dinner and it was great! I just love her family soooo much! I told them they cant move so I can visit them after my mission!

Guess who comes this Saturday! Nate, Kennzie, and Kenna!! Woot Woot. I'm excited to see them.

Other things that I have opened is cookie mix, which I gave to a RC when we did an FHE with them. Ornaments, which I gave to MAsha. I think I told you that already. Um sticky notes! eye shadow. floss, which I gave to sis Morris b/c she just ran out of hers the day before. A bracelet. Thanks for sending those! It is fun to open something everyday!

Thanks for all you do! Love you tons. Love, Sister Anderson

P.s. Do you know how Tyler M, Spence A, and Tyler F are doing?

Dad (toby7272@hotmail.com); Mom (homeecdiva@hotmail.com)We had this crazy awesome awkward dinner. It was with a widowed lady
that was 87! We walk in and chat and then she asks S Morris what her
name is. She wanted to know our first name. We didn’t tell her for
awhile but she was very persistent. So we told her. Then we went to
eat and she goes, "Sara, could you say the prayer?" Ah! hahahaa. It
was great. It was soo hard not to laugh during the prayer. Then she
told me I don’t have long left on my mission. That was a first for me.
haha. Then there was craziness with the dessert and me trying to pawn
off my coconut to S Morris so I didn’t have to eat it. It was just the
best dinner appointment ever.

Oh another dinner appointment we had 2 days ago was: bananas, oranges,
grapes, and watermelon. That’s it. hahaha. Luckily we had an FHE with a
Recent Convert family and they gave us sticky rice and Mama. (an
Asian top roman) So good!

Oh Mu Doh (who got baptized on Oct 23) got a calling! She is in the
primary. So proud of her!

I have been slacking on my "only in" so I have one for you

Only in this language program does the weather affect baptism and
sacrament attendance. I am very serious. Now that its cold attendance
is starting to go down a bit and another lady said she didn’t want to
get baptized this Saturday b/c it was to cold. Lame. haha. but the good
news is now 3 people are getting baptized on Saturday and not just
one!!!!!! Masha, Nyae Meh, and Paw Meh, which her nickname is Sara!
haha.

I think I told you about this already but every Sunday we go over to
a RC house and work on Personal Progress with one of her daughters,
Pay Li. Anyway, it is soooo amazing to help her! When we first started
we had to pull her out of her room now she waits for us and runs to
get her stuff so we can help her!!!! She has changed so much in these
past few weeks and we have been able to sign off 4 things in Faith!!!
It is just so awesome to see her change. I hope I can work in Young
Women’s when I am older. Well like back in a family ward.

Oh I need a CD case if you are looking for something else to send
me....Sorry I keep forgetting to tell you but if its to late totally
understand

I have opened floss, ornaments, a awesome notebook with colored
pencils, ummm that’s all I can remember. But its been fun so thank you.

Love you all. Love, Sister Anderson

Plus a new one was made, like with Karen people talking about when they got baptized 2 or 3 times before they got baptized LDS and about the Karen couple that got sealed in the temple! So I hope to send that one to you too but it might be awhile before its all edited and sent out. Can you find out any of the names of the Karen people that the missionaries are teaching back in VA.? That would be great. Love you. Love, Sara

It snowed lots. We had a baptism last night and people kept calling us and asking if we were still doing the baptism. One service missionary calls and was like we cant do it, we wont be able to make it. She goes I know you have faith but I don’t. We need to move it. An eternal investigator was getting baptized we were not about to push this. haha. It ended up happening and we even had people come out to the baptism. I called the branch pres, who we now live with, and go, Umm I don’t want to drive in the snow so can we ride with you. SO us and the Karen family and pres Naylor all got in the 15 passenger van and went to the baptism. For the Sisters safety sister Winn did not want the sisters for go out after 6 so after the baptism we went home and played with the Karen girls for like 20 min. Oh but right after the baptism when all the adults were eating cookies Sister Morris and I and.....like 8 Karen girls between the ages of 2 and 11 played freeze tag for a solid 30 min. I was so tired after that but it was loads of fun! I will have to send pictures soon.

Elders get to play in Turkey bowls tomorrow and b/c we cant play b/c we cant be touched we got permission from sister Winn to have a powder puff game tomorrow morning!!!!!! Sister Morris and I are planning it out right after we finish e-mailing. I just got the building reserved. things are on the go! I am so excited for it. Plus we are all going to dress up. Naturally being a girl we have to dress the part!

We have found tons of Kareni families!!! Its very exciting. Like 6 in a matter of less then 2 weeks! Two is already on date for baptism in December and we hope to add lots more in the next couple weeks!

I hear there is a new Mormon ad on the youth.lds.org website about missionaries either out now or some time soon so yall should check it out. I just looked and its not up now so hopefully soon.

Thanks for everything you do. Love you tons, Love Sister Anderson

So I have waited my whole mission to do Temple Service......On Monday I got to do it!!!! It was great! There was a conference in the Solemn Assembly room on Sunday so we put up all the chairs and then a couple of us went to the guys locker room to go through the lockers to make sure they were clean. FYI the girls locker room is so much prettier then the guys! I got to see the James E Talmage room so that was pretty cool. The Tooele East Stake (were I use to cover) Was doing service too!!! So I got to see a few people I knew. It was amazing! The best part was that we all wore old baptism jumper suits and tennis shoes. haha.

This past Sunday we took 6 investigators to temple square!! It was so awesome. It was Maunge Pae (dad) Lewla Sa (daughter) Paw Ku (daughter) Chili (future daughter in law) Armuar (son) Paw Eh Sher (daughter) It was awesome. Sadly they are still not on date for baptism but they will be soon enough.

There are 3 people getting baptized on Nov 23. There was supposed to be 4 but the mom of the family feel off date. She wants to get baptized with her friend in the summer and not with her husband and son on Tuesday. Go figure. She told us last night. It was hard to be disappointed because her son was translating for us telling us that she was not getting baptized that week and in the back round she is going " I resign" hahaha. It was funny but sad at the same time.

So it’s Myit Win and Saw Win Chanu Noo. She, Chanu Noo, is a dry Mormon. She knows that church is true and has an amazing testimony but did not want to get baptized without her husband. Totally understandable but he was not progressing at all! We started reading the book of Mormon with her 3 times a week and she changed so much! I truly think the Book of Mormon is what changed her mind. So amazing! I am so excited that she is getting baptized.

We met a new Chin family. They are cool. We got the referral from a RM that is their case worker. They went to church this past week and they seemed to like it ok. But they allowed us to come back and they said that once they learned more and if they liked it or something along those lines, they would get baptized. They are an awesome family.

Thanks for all you do. I love you all. Love, Sister Anderson

I so called Kelsey going to TS!!!! I am sooo excited for her!!!! But I’m sad I will have to wait until march till I get to see her!!! Maybe she will do her outbound in my mission! I guess that would not really be an out bound though. haha. Oh the TS sisters go on "out bound" for a few transfers so they don’t always have to be on Temple Square.

Before I forget can I get Andrew's cell #. Our Ward mission leader and another WML in another ward speak Tagalog and so I want them to call Andrew so he does not forget his language

The baptism went great! Started on time and Pres and Sister Winn both came.

There is a family getting baptized at the end of November. They have only been in the US for about a month. They speak many languages so we gave them the gospel principles book to them in Burmese (b/c that’s about the only books we have to give anyone for this program) Anyway, that mom already read the book once all the way through and is on it again for the second time. We took them to Temple Square last week and they loved it and then this past Sunday was all on temples b/c the first Karen Family (who we "live" with) went to the temple last week. They loved that Sunday and said they wanted to go to the temple. Our standard of excellence in the mission is to have 3 people on date for baptism each week. Sunday night we still had 0 but we knew it was possible. I said a prayer to myself saying that our next lesson, which was the stop smoking lesson, needed to fall through so we could have time to find someone. The Lord went through and the lesson ended up not happening so we went across the street and went to Myat's house and ended up putting his family on date for baptism, all 3 of them! At 8:35 Sunday night a way was provided for us to meet our goal! Amazing. They are just such an awesome family.

I finally got a Karen bag!!!!! Its green! We got it at one of our dinner appointments. Funny story about that. So It was Friday night and we had only had one dinner appointment that week and so our WML bought us litter ceasers pizza and so we went on the house to eat it but the Karen family said they had extra food so we ate with them then they got a call saying that we were supposed to be at another persons house so we jumped in the car and went to the dinner appointment we got there and there was little ceasers pizza. hahaaha. but then we got a Karen bag so it was great!

Love you all thanks for everything! Love Sister Anderson

Ends up they are doing something new for transfer day. The old way for transfers is that p-day just got pushed to Thursday. But now they just moved transfers a couple hours earlier and we have p-day on the same day.

SO Transfer info. I stayed in Parley and am with Sister Morris, from AZ and she has been out for like a year. Still covering the Columbus Branch. The sad news is, we moved. We now live with Pres Naylor. So it should be interesting to live with my branch pres.

One of our Recent converts, Jola blessed the sacrament this past Sunday!! It was great! Also, this Sunday we were supposed to speak with any remaining time after the 5 confirmations. ( Its a new tradition that they do with us, what ever time is left after 5 or more confirmations, we have the rest of the time. haha) Well for time sake they just did a musical #, which was done by ALL non members. and they sang "Shout to the Lord" It was great! Anyway, they only had time for sister Blackwelder to get up and do a short "departing testimony"

Oh last week Sister Wixum, General Primary Pres, was at the temple with other ladies in her RS. Wow that was one happy and unified RS. It was cool to see. I just love sister Wixum.

We have Moo Moos, Poe, Pay, and See's baptism on Friday!!! I am so excited about it! Poe is already preparing to go on a mission. Maybe he will go to VA and teach the Karen people there!!

So we do "English" lessons with Karen moms who stay at home with their kids. We read Book of Mormon Stories with them. It’s wonderful. If people say they are not interested in learning about the gospel we just go to plan 2 and do English by reading the book of Mormon stories. Its cool to see how people change. They start trusting us more, pray more, and just are happier. With one lady its we teach 1/2 English, 1/2 normal lesson. Its way f

Once I get all my stuff unpacked and set up I will be able to send you pictures. I printed lots off!

Mom (homeecdiva@hotmail.com); Dad (toby7272@hotmail.com) We had a mission tour yesterday with Elder Evans. Newly called to the
first quarm of the 70. It was great! It went from 10-4. With an hour
break for lunch. It was intense. But wonderful. During the mission
tour Elder Evans said a shocking statistic. 70% of recent converts
don’t get asked for referrals. So we are working at that now at asking
every RC for a referral. Dad, you might want to tell your missionaries
that and see how they are doing with that.

This past Saturday pretty much the whole mission went to go get their
flu shots. So like 150 missionaries are at the Hospital getting their
flu shots. Great fun. I am sure if you look at the blog (sister Winns)
you have seen pictures from it.

So we had our 5 baptisms on Tuesday!!!! It went great! It started an
hour late but still went great! Pray Meh's ride got lost, very lost so
Pray Meh didn’t come to the church till 7:55ish. The baptism was
supposed to start at 7. It was cool at like 6 Sister Blackwelder and I
did a South Parc run. South Parc in a town house complex that like 50%
of it are refugees from Burma. So we just knocked on like all of their
doors and told them to come to the baptism. We had a huge!!!! turn
out!

It snowed the other day......sad. But its all melted now so its all good.

Transfers are next week do I will not e-mail till Thursday.

Before I forget. There are some of our investigators that know people in VA so do you think you could find out the name of the Karen investigators in VA. Plus I have a DVD from the branch of some of the people in the branch bearing their testimonies so I got a extra copy and I will mail it to you so you can have the Karen investigators over to your house and watch it! It would be great! Also, If you could find my baptism picture and make a copy of it and mail it to me that would be great!

The Book of Mormon reading is going great! I love it! Its so nice to set aside 30 min to read it and its way cool that we are going to get it done by Dec. 31!!! I am getting so much out of it!

So Nabila has had a few baptism dates and it has never gone through. So we called her and tried to stop by many times and nothing has been happening. So we have not been able talk to her. Anyway so we had to drop her and then last night she called US! and goes so when can we do this. I was like, do what? Come over to your house? She goes no get baptized. I was like Well we can do it this weekend!!!!!! Then she explained to us how ready and excited she was. Wow. She had her interview tonight!!! We were not going to have any baptisms this week because its stake conference but the Stake pres said that if we find someone that is ready then we can do the baptism and get them confirmed that day. It’s very exciting!

There was a family that came to church last week and so we took them to Temple square that night. Then this past Sunday the 18 year old boy was in priesthood and there was another boy getting the priesthood so Poe, our investigator, asked if he could join in the circle and so they explained why he couldn’t. Then they were talking about missions and Poe said he wanted to go on one! Golden! He is getting baptized on October 26!!! We are teaching his whole family now. Very Exciting!!! He now has a preach my gospel!!! He is so solid.

We have 5 people getting baptized on the 26th of October. No one wants to get baptized on the 30th. Even though they all will still be confirmed on the 31st. Paw Law, Mu Doh, Hay Soe, Nying San, and Prey Meh are all getting baptized. 4 Karen people and 1 Kareni.

We are having a mission tour. On Tuesday or Wednesday. A mission tour, in case you don’t know b/c I didn’t until yesterday, is when a new 70 member is called and so to "practice" they come and train us. So I am super excited about it.

Thanks for everything! Love you all. Love, Sister Anderson

Like 2 weeks ago during weekly planning we set a goal for 1 person to get baptized. We didn’t have anybody on-date but we still set the goal b/c we knew that some one was prepared out in SLC. Nabila was supposed to get baptized on Saturday Oct 9th. So on Tuesday we went over on Tues and she wanted to get baptized!!!! Very exciting! WE had pur person that was prepared! Well come time for her interview she didn’t show up. We called, stopped by and she never called back or answered the door......Saturday morning comes around. We check tons of referrals and added some new investigators and the afternoon was going great! Lwel Moo called us and asked if we were still coming over at 3. So we headed over to his house. No one in taht family is baptized. A mom, dad, and 2 sons. The boys are 9 and 12. They wanted nothing more then to get baptized but the dad said that they were to young. To make this story even more awesome Lwel Moo had just sprayed for bugs so there were tons! or cockroaches running for life all in the living room and all over our stuff! haha. So we are talking to Lwel Moo about his baptism and he said it was no good for him but it was good for his boys. He has said that before so we really didn’t get to excited about it. So then I turned to the boys and asked them if they would pray about being baptized on Oct 16. They said yes! Then Lwel Moo said that he had to work that weekend. Hmmmm....So we said, How about tonight. Long story short. We had a baptism 4 hours later!!!!!!! This was clearly supposed to happen. Everything fell into place. Everyone that needed to be there could be there. Everyone that we asked to speak accepted and the 2 interviews happened before the baptism! It was a beautiful night!!!!!! And to make things even better we added 2 new investigators and still had 9 lessons that day AND my stitches came out!!!! What an epic day!

SO yeah that was the highlight of my life. Don’t really need to write anymore. hahaha

Sister Winn came out with us last night!!!! It was fun having her. She is a wonderful teacher.

We decided that we are going to invite the Kareni Sunday school class that we teach to be baptized on Sunday. A solid 9 out of 13 are non members. We taught them about the Godhead, Faith, Repentance, Prophets( which included Joseph Smith), Prayer. This coming sunday we are going to talk about Baptism and the Holy Ghost then bam! invite them to all be baptized. It should be interesting. Im excited for it.

Fun fact for ya. THe Book of Mormon is being translated into Napali! I know one of the guys that is helping with it. There are 6 men doing it. They all have their role of what to do. They first chapter they did was 2 Nephi 6. It took them 20 hours to do! WOW! Also for General conference they have about 10 translators for each language. The translators get teh talks weeks in advance and the best translator is for the prophet b/c the prophet is the only one really allowed to go "off script" Also the translators have to be Temple worthy.

The first presidency was at the Temple today. I didn’t see any of them but some of the Elders said they saw them. Lucky!

Thanks for everything you do! Tell grandma thanks for the make up!!!!!! Love, Sister Anderson

conference was great! I saw Katie Anderson and the Lansing's and that’s it. But it was nice to see them! We got tickets for all the sessions but we did not get into the Sunday morning session b/c we didn’t know we had to get there earlier. hahah oops. We just watched it in the North Visitors center. Lots of leg room in there!!!! And then I opened my big month while walking next to the Temple Square mission pres and told Abby who he was and I think b/c he heard his named he stopped us (b/c at this point we had walked past him and were a good 8 feet from him) Then he made us give him referrals. hahaha. Oh so I shook some apostles hands but I don’t remember who they were....haha. I talked to sister Wixom for a bit! I love her! And she remembered me!!!

Zone Conference is on Monday!

The area is going. We are teaching many people so that’s wonderful. We sadly have to drop two families but the Lord blessed us and we were able to add 5 new people the next day!!!! It’s amazing how the places people in the right place at the right time. We went to an apartment complex to visit people, no one was home so we figured we would stop by a recent convert to see how they are doing. We were talking to them then we decided to play a matching game with them to review all the commandments. At that moment a guy walks in the house ( karen people never knock they just walk in, so they always say they know its a white person at the door b/c we knock.) so he decided to stay and one of the boys goes, " he not baptized" so we, 7 of us, played this matching commandments game. We then talked to the guy, Say Htoo, and asked if we could meet with his family. He agreed and then gave us his address. Ends up we already got this referral but for his daughter!!!! We have been trying to get a hold of her for weeks! Say Htoo daughter, Paw Kay Htoo, walked in the MISSION OFFICE looking on where to go for school so the cute mission office ladies gave us the referral. So all the pieces are coming together!

Pres. Winn told on yall. He told me today that the blog has not been updated since like august.......haha. I printed pictures off today so I hope to be sending some soon. So you can add that those to the blog.

Hm I forgot my planner so I don’t remember everything I was going to write you about.....hm that’s a problem.

Love yall tons!!!! Love, Sister Anderson

Sister Winn is awesome and got tickets to the General RS conference!!! It was the most amazing thing ever! Not bashing on guys or anything but the spirit is so much stronger when its just women in the room. It was incredible! I loved Pres Monson’s talk! Well after the session we had a wedding.....at 8. We had 30 min to get from the conference center back to our area and we totally did it!!! We pretty much ran, after we got off of temple square, to the car ( member took us) and she is a very skilled driver in SLC and knew were all the back road and non busy roads. It was great! The wedding went great too! It was Nabila. We dont ahve the Napali/Haven Ward any more, a set of elders have it. So they were at the wedding too. Now Nabila can get baptized!! Very exciting!

Mynt Sein's baptism was good. It was a pretty good turn out and we wore our Karen Clothes again!

Sister Blackkweldre and I teach a Kareni class every week. They are different from the Karen. Kareni are less educated so pretty much what we teach them they accept b/c its just one of those "matter of fact" things. So its loads of fun teaching. The Karen class teacher was gone on Sunday so Sis. Blackkwelder taught the Karen class and I taught the Kareni class. I taught about the Godhead. It went great! I loved it! We are starting to teach more Kareni people so its good that we are teaching the class. A man, Brother Wheeler, teaches a 5 min English class in each class ( Karen and Kareni) every Sunday but he had to leave early so I did it. haha. We talked about fruits and veges and their colors. It was great. I never \ thought I would be doing what I am going now. I’ts awesome!!! Love my mission! I just want to stay in the Karen program forever and learn the language!!

We had dinner with the branch pres a week or two ago and I told him about my dream of being in the conference issue of the ensign. Well on Sunday Pres Naylor comes up to me and goes Sister Anderson there is someone I want you to meet. He then introduced me to a man that is very much in charge of taking pictures for the ensign!!! He told me if I see a photographer at the conference center to tell them that he said to take a picture of me! haha. He said who knows if I will get in it but I might at least be able to get my picture taken! If I was staying the branch for conference, like at the church, then it would be more likely b/c the ensign ppl are going there for a bit. My mission is so cool

Guess who the Dials invited over for Dinner on Sunday....the Lloyds!!!!!! It was the best!!! So cool. An amazing dinner appt! I really need to print off pictures and sent them to yall.

Thanks for everything!!!! And for everything that I am going to get at conference!!! Love you all soooo much! Love, Sister Anderson

Well my 6 month mark was yesterday and no I didnt burn anything or do anything for it. just fyi. Oh and Julie...Thank you so much for the clothes! The purple sweater was to big but the other 2 were great! Thanks!

We got to go to the temple today!!!! It was great and a huge session. On our way home we were talking about food and where we liked to eat and so the members took us all (6 missionaries) to Chick-ful-a! It was wonderful.

So Temple Suare with Tom was amazing! He said he would start taking the lessons from us! Still has not gone to church yet though....still working on that one. Hes 3 year old son is supper cute. Joey. We are like best friends. I thaught him how to play the thumb war game and we played that for like 20 min in the car driving to TS. Oh and Sister Jordana Wilde gave a a tour of the North visiters center! It was good to see her.

Micheal (yes, his name is spelled right) is getting baptized this weekend! At 3! I am so excited!!!!!! He is so awesome. He is always so willing to say the prayer after the lessons and he has wonderful prayers! His younger brother, Andrew is stating to sit in lessons and praying in lessons too!!! I love teaching these 2!

Jarens baptism went amazing. Like nothing at all went wrong. Well we started like 5 min late but taht was it! The font was filled, the talks short sweet and to the point, good amount of people were at the baptism. It was the lest stressed I had been about a baptism my whole mission. Its all the WML. This ward has an awesme WML.

Oh the fried pickels turned out great. Thanks! There was a group of about 8 people there so when I was making them I still had to do missionary things so I made sure all of them were reading thier scriptures and saying prayers at night. haha. I got a commitment out of all but like one that they were going to do those two things now.

OH My I almost forgot! Garry is getting the priesthood on sunday!!!!!!! This is my first person on my mission to see get the priesthood! I am so excited for him! Oh I am just so happy for him!

Transfers are next week so I will be e-mialing on Thursday.

Thanks for all you do. Love you tons! Love, Sister Anderson

Sorry we got to e-mial crazy late. So I only have 10 min to write. I didnt know the family history center closed so early.
Things are good. WE ahve a baptism this Saturday on the 31st. We are trying to go to Temple Square with Tom (nonmember) and his wife (member) this saturday too.
We went hiking yesterday for p-day to Indian Caves. I will be mailing pictures soon. I have some stories but I dont have time to type it all out. Sorry. I will have to write it another time. We went on exchanges yesterday with some ladies from one of our wards and that was great.
We are teaching a 9 year old girl and we bring a primary book with us to lessons and sing primary songs. Well just one per lesson but we are just trying to help her learn song so she does not feel out of place in primary. Its fun. Popcorn popping is a favorite.
Transfers are on Aug. 11th. To answer your question mom.
Well love you tons. Love, Sister Anderson

Sisters Breakfast‏

We had sisters breakfast today at the mission home!!! It was great!!! It was fun to look at tons of pictures/books of Kenna and family. It was also really fun to be with the Winn’s. They are just so awesome. And so funny.

We have a baptism this Friday! Dallas Cannon. He’s nine. Those lessons were some pretty intense lessons. In the Cannon family there are 5 boys. Ages 2-9. It was fun though teaching them. We have to set up the "Sister’s classroom" every time we came to try to make it calm. It would work for about the first 5 min and then we would loose them. haha. But it was great fun and they are fun to teach.

Cameron’s "pep talk" went great! We were supposed to meet with him on Sunday to see how talking with his dad went but his dads plane got stuck in CA. So we are meeting with him on Friday. Cameron is a very busy boy so it’s hard to meet with him. But I am stoked to talk with him!

Our potential that we went to go talk to ended up being 8. haha. But its all good b/c we are still going to help her learn about the church and help the mom get reactivated. They are a wonderful family.

Jaren (on-date for the 31st) is doing great! He is such a smart boy. Every Fast Sunday, since he has been going to church, he has bore his testimony! I have missed it both times! I will hear it one of these days! HE’s a funny kid, after every lesson we ask if he has questions and he always says, "um no you explained it pretty well."

We are meeting a girl and her mother for the first time! The girl, Mellisa, has been going to YW stuff for months and now goes to church!

Yesterday we had a car for like 3 hours! Ok not really a girl in one of our wards was free for 3 hours so she was able to drive us around! It was wonderful!

People are amazing in Tooele. I just love it here. I know I say that is like every e-mail but I really do. They are all so willing to help us. Like we got it down for rides that we have not used our bikes in like a week.

So I taught Sister Tagawa how to play I spy. haha. From time to time when we are walking we will play. It’s great.

Long story short, I left my planner in the other sister’s car on Saturday. And b/c on Sunday all of us are always at church anywhere from 8 am - 4:30 pm we really don’t have time to just drop off something. So I didn’t have a planner till Monday! It was awful to say the least, and Sister Tagawa and I have to separate from 9-2 because we had investigators and less actives going to church at the same time. I just felt lost with out a companion or a planner! So once I got my planner back on Monday I was very happy!

Oh yes mom I did get your package. Thank! I love them they are so cute.

Ok well I am out of time. Love you tons! Love, Sister Anderson

I love the Winn’s! Zone Conference was amazing. They are just the most AMAZING people ever! I love them! They are just so funny and so involved with us as missionaries. Both Pres and Sister Winn are going to be going out with the missionaries. I almost forgot!!! The DRESS CODE changed!!!!! like world wide. This is from the 12. We can have shorter skirts and have patterns! When we sit down our knees have to be covered, that’s the rule with skirts! So today the 4 of us (in Tooele) went to DI and just went crazy! Ok not really. I got 2 new skirts and 2 new shirts! So exciting! We don’t have to wear nylons from conference to conference (April-Oct. no nylons!) Oh and sister Winn said that we could grow out our hair and have cute ponytails. Not just throw it up kind of stuff. So today I have my hair up in the up-do bun thing, you know what I am talking about mom. I love it! We got our bikes Saturday....its hard not going to lie. Ha-ha. I am some pretty awesome tan lines now! On Saturday night we ate like 3 times b/c everywhere we went everyone wanted to feed us. It was pretty intense. We taught the stop smoking program to two less actives (now becoming active) and we put their son, Dallas on-date! Its very exciting! WE are meeting with a potential on Thursday and I am so excited for that! Well he would have been baptized already but his dad is anti so that does not really work out. So pretty much we are going to have an epic pep talk with him about talking to his dad and then go baptize! This kid, Cameron, is just amazing! The first time I saw him I could just see the tag on him in the future! Such an amazing kid! I absolutely love Tooele! There are just amazing people here! I already decided I am coming back here after my mission! Sorry the internet is down so we only have a few computers for all the missionaries so we have to make is short this week. Oh and the printer is not working so I am not able to print off the e-mails therefore I cant read your e-mails this week. I will just wait for next week. Thanks mom, I got the Stamps. Only in Utah will you get a pioneer bonnet after your dinner apt.......its green. Ha-ha. Love you tons! Thanks for the e-mails sorry I could not read them this week. Love, Sister Anderson

We have zone conference on Monday so we get the see again in just a few short days! Oh man I just love them! It was funny they asked sister Tagawa about her family and then they got to me and I go well I guess you know all about my family. They are just so awesome and I am so looking forward to the next year and some with them. Oh I forgot this last week.....Happy Birthday Andrew and Sydney!!!! Marshall's baptism went great! He is just so awesome! I printed off some pictures and will get those to you asap. Well of course I forgot stamps again today! So I will just wait till Monday to mail those off to y'all when I get the stamps from you mom. Thanks for sending me some by the way. Jaren is on-date for the 31st! It would have been sooner but they are going out of town or random things are happening that they cant do it till then. But its all good because its happening on the 31st! Right now we are working on finding new people to teach. We found a girl yesterday but she is moving! But she is still going to live in Tooele but we are just going to have to wait a few weeks till we teach her. I stayed in TOOELE!!! But I got a new companion, once again, Sister Tagawa, from Japan. I am super excited to have her as a companion! She was in my zone a coup[le transfers ago so It will be fun to have her as a comp. Oh and I DON’T have a CAR this transfer. hahaha. Pres Sonne is leaving and he is the one that made sure all sisters had a car for their safety. Now that he is leaving in less then a week there are 2 companionships of sisters that are walking this transfer. I called sister Sonne to get permission to get bikes, she is letting us! So later today the Zone Leaders are bringing me and sister Tagawa bikes! I have mixed feelings on not having a car. But it will be exciting to get tan!

Before I forget, I need stamps. I always forget to buy them and now that I don’t have a car I cant just run to the post office and grab some.

Marshall’s baptism is this Saturday! I am super excited about it. I love this kid!

I guess I really don’t need to tell you about Abby and Kelsey coming b/c by the sounds of it you heard a play by play from them. But it was loads of fun to have them all come. I got a CD from Brother Bradfield from mine and Abby’s "photo shot" It was so fun. I was going to print some off and send them to you but the CD didn’t work at Walmart so I guess I will just send you the CD.

Gary’s the "21 day Promise" Just were you pray for people on a list that you make of non members and LA's and read scriptures for 21 days and the promise is that someone from that list will talk to the missionaries or start coming to church. Stuff like that. Well at Garry’s baptism, Bro Powell, one of Garry’s friends, goes Hey Sister Anderson look at
this. He pulls out his 21 day promise sheet and the first name on the list was Garry's. How awesome is that!

Oh so I don’t know if Abby told you, well I am sure she did, but we went over to a less actives house and his teeth were just chillin on the table! Ha-ha. Oh it was so hard not to laugh.

Kids are funny. We went to a member’s house to tell them transfers were coming up and the kids were outside cleaning. Well to try and get the kids to work faster the dad went outside to tell them we were there and so the little girl asked if she could come in and of course the dad said no that they needed to finish their work. Then she goes “But dad, they are very poor people!" hahaha. It was so random but I got a kick out of it b/c it’s so true.

Things are going great. Thanks for the e-mails mom and dad! Love you all. Love, Sister Anderson

We have a really young set of sisters out here is Tooele. The "oldest sister" this is only her 5th transfer. Then S. Stoner at 4 transfers out. Me at 3 transfers out and sis Bates, only her second. AKA all of us have been out from 1.5 months to 7. We have 2 new investigators!!! Sally and Gary. We went to Sallys house on Saturday for a Stop Smoking referral and she said she wants the lessons too. And she already has someone to baptize her! Talk about golden! Then Gary. His situation is very confussing and I dont even get all of it so I am not even going to try and explain it. Fact is he said that he is willing to listen to missionaries now! Awesome! Marias baptism didnt happen but we are still teaching her. We are probably going to put her on date for June. My new companion listens to music when she goes to bed.....last night I had to wait for her to fall asleep so I could turn it off. hahaha. So I am hoping I get use to it. Oh I am doing Sharing time for both Jr and Sr primary this Suday. And I am giving a talk on the 30th. I am really excited for primary but not going to lie a bit nervous about the talk b/c I still dont have a topic. Oh yes mom I got the package and the cinnomin rolls/ letters from Sister Dial! So thanks! and could you tell her thanks for me too! And could you ask Kelsey where she got my journal that she gave me....I am almost done with it and I want a new one. Well times up. Thanks for your e-mials! Abby, like always yours made me laugh! Did you really write that in your journal! haha Love you tons! Love, Sister Anderon

Not to much to report because I just talked to you on Sunday. We are going to get about 6 hours of service this week so that is super exciting!!! We also have a "sister lunchen" tomorrow. All the sisters get together with Sister Sonne and we all have lunch and I guess sister sonne talks to us. So it should be fun, I'm excited.

WE had a pretty rough night last night with one of our people on-date but thats life so we jsut have to keep going and not get upset.

Oh I got my haircut again. Its back to as short as I got it the first time. Well maybe a bit longer...it does not matter, its short. haha.

Dont fortget transfers are in a week so you will hear from me on Thursday, not wednesday.

Ok I really have nothing new to report b/c I just talked to you. So Sorry. Love you all! Love, Sister Anderson

Still snowing in Tooele/Thirteenth letter

Date: Wed, 5 May 2010 14:30:48 -0600Subject: Its still snowing here.....From: sara.anderson@myldsmail.netTo: homeecdiva@hotmail.com
Ok this is going to be short b/c I don't have alot of time and I am going to talk to you in a few days...First, you can call me at 3:30 my time. So I hope that works out for yall. I gave dad my # in the e-mail to him.

So I went on 24 hour exchanges on.....Thursday. I was in the "avenues." It's the people that live near Temple Square. Well, we had two lessons on TS and one was like an hour late to the appt. so we walked around talking to TS missionaires (b/c we were not able to leave TS b/c we had another lesson after that and the guy might have shown up...and he does not have a cell phone so we had no clue when he was going to make it.) Well, I saw Sister Wilde!!!! And got to talk to her for like 15 min! It was wonderful! Then I met a sister missionary from Pakistan! Crazy! Then there was another sister talking to us and she was blown away that we had Elders as DL's, ZL's, and AP's. haha. On TS sisters have those callings. For dinner that same night we went to the Freed's house. As in Dan Freed, the artist. Greg Olsen and him were best friends when they were in HS. Well, Brother Freed gave me and Sister Martinez 5 copies of his art. So that was cool. Oh and I guess there is a new show called "Little Chocolatiers" I don't know how to spell it. Well, his daughter works at that shop that the show is filmed. I thought it was pretty cool.

Right now we have 5 people on date for baptism! Maria. She will be getting baptized on the 15th of May and is Hispanic and the reason why we teach her is b/c she comes to a ward in our stake. I am pretty sure I told you about Jacqueline but she might be out of town for the next 2 weeks so we don't know now when her baptism will be. Shauna. Awesome, awesome girl!! She is 21 and loves learning about the gospel! She will be getting baptized either the end of May or begining of June so that's exciting! Robert (22nd of May) and Sister Goodshield (end of June) are kind of up in the air people. Robert still has things to work on so it might take awhile and Sister Goodshield is pretty close to baptism but does not want to do it w/o her husband and he might take awhile. But we are working on it and meeting with both of them tomorrow!

Oh, and yes, it's has snowed her a few times the past week.....but then it will get to like 60 degrees in the afternoon so it will all melt so it's just crazy weather!!!

Well, I am out of time.. I will talk to you on Sunday. Love you all tons. Love, Sister Anderson
